How a Blue Diamond Brush Cutter Helped Clear the Way for a New Home

When Todd Kindy (also known as DigginLife21 on YouTube) started looking for a heavy-duty brush cutter, he had more than his own work in mind.
As Todd connected with the team at Blue Diamond Attachments, the conversation turned to how he could put the machine to work helping people in his community. He wanted to take on projects for people who had a job in front of them but needed a little extra help getting it done. It didn't take long for the first project to come along.
In North Carolina, a military veteran and current law enforcement officer was preparing to build his dream home on a steep piece of property. There was just one problem: before the house could go up, the overgrown pasture needed to come down.
The property had already been partially cleared with a stand-behind brush cutter, but the terrain was getting tougher and the vegetation was getting thicker. Tall grass, briars, brambles and saplings covered the hillside, with rocks and boulders scattered throughout.
For Todd, it was exactly the kind of job he had been looking for.
He brought in a full-size skid steer equipped with a Blue Diamond Extreme Duty Series 2 Brush Cutter and started working his way across the hillside.
The conditions weren't easy. The ground was steep and slick, and the rocks made every pass a little more unpredictable. Todd had to slow down, work from different directions and pay close attention to traction. But the brush cutter handled the vegetation, working through two- and three-inch saplings and heavy growth as the hillside began to open up.
After about 12 hours of work, the difference was hard to miss.
What had started as an overgrown, difficult-to-navigate pasture was becoming a cleared piece of property where the homeowner could start moving toward the next phase of his project.
And Todd didn't charge the family for the work.
For him, the job was about more than putting a new attachment through its paces. It was the first opportunity to put the brush cutter to work the way he had intended: helping someone in his community tackle a job that would have been difficult to take on alone.
There was still plenty of work left to do, but the first step was clear. One overgrown hillside was no longer standing between a family and the place they hoped to call home.
